Dear Adobe... Dreamweaver CC 2017 is the worst upgrade ever. Please have your software work properly before you put it out
For me who works with your software to make a living... here are some things I don't want Adobe to do.
Change the interface every time someone has an intellectual orgasm.
What in the world did you do with the excellent Find and Replace tool? The new one sucks royally!
Don't keep changing the interface and the button locations (the files panel refresh button. We who work with your software build up "muscle memory" on where things are. Please don't change stuff because you think it's cute.
This version of Dreamweaver is so bad (CC2017), I've went back to CC2015…

minify
It will be great if DW could include tools for minifying CSS and JS.

drag and drop files
I don't seem to be able to drag and drop a file from the files panel to the code panel any more. Has this facility been removed?
Cheers,

Why did you remove classic asp from CC 2017?
Can you please explain what is achieved by removing this feature from CC 2017? I have loads of sites I need to support with this.
Can you say what the downside was to leave this in-place from CS6?
Please add this back again. Don't want to have to move to another IDE.

Vertical Split Code-Code
I often find vertical split screen helpful when comparing two similar files or features shared between two files. I find the horizontal split mode more difficult to use for comparisons as I cannot track code line for line.
I found no way to load a second file into the second pane. It only seems useful for loading referenced files like css or js. This may be intentional, but seems like an oversight to think that developers would not need to load two root level html/php/etc files side by side for comparison.
My suggestion is to provide developers the ability to…

ADD SERVER BEHAVIORS. MySQLI database connector. See WebAssist MySQLi add-on
Make sure you add a php msqli database connector in the new version. For ideas look at Webassist MySQLi Server Behaviors. Matter of fact include the server behaviors you recently depreciated. Without them you will run off half of your market.

PHP Code Coloring Improvements
The new code coloring is kinda nice. However, I've encountered some possible improvements:
Make "<?php" and "?>" tags red again for readability. Also, the "@" prefix makes function's name color white instead of green.
Variable names should be of another color instead of white for easy identification.
Parsing variables inside strings should also be better identifiable.
BONUS: CSS & JS minifier :)

Search functionality not working
Search functionality not working
1. You have to have a file open to search. Not fun.
2. You can't copy the search result cells.
3. You can't export the results.
4. You can't continue working while the search is performed.38 votes -
Highlighting Tag Removes Code Coloring in DW 2017 - Why?
When clicking anywhere inside an HTML tag in code view, DW highlights the entire tag in an ugly brown (using dark theme), but most tragically - changes all the text inside this highlight to WHITE - all of the code coloring is gone. So if I have attributes within the tag that were nice and color coded before, I now have to read through plain white text to quickly know what I'm dealing with as I add / edit them.
If my dark them is #222 background, how about highlight the tags with #444, and leave all my code coloring…

Restore human-oriented, UI based Code Coloring feature
Fully restore the Code Coloring feature as it was implemented in Dreamweaver 2015 - including the pre-defined schemes from that version.
Code Coloring in DW 2015 was user friendly, intuitive, and based on human-oriented UI. I attached two screenshots as a reminder how it was done there.
It's also important to including the existing schemes - as users don't have to recreate schemes they were already using.
Obviously, it can be based on Brackets or anything else - but the underlying technology should be irrelevant and transparent to the regular user.
36 votesHello,
We have started working on “Code Coloring Customization” improvements by adding support for customization of generic and language specific colors and the changes are available in our latest Prerelease drop.
With this improvement you will be able to customize Code Colors in Dreamweaver Preferences —> Interface window.
Please join Dreamweaver beta program from below link and try out the feature.

Find and Replace poor performance
I am enjoying much of the upgrade to CC 2017 however, Find and Replace performace has regressed. To be honest, DW's Find and Replace is the primary reason I have stuck with DW all this time, mainly due to its Regex capabilities and speed in this area. Prior to 2017, when performing a search (or find/replace), DW would simply list matches in the Search panel as they appeared however the app now hangs when searching for anything more than a simple term and if this happens, the search 'STOP' button is unavailable so there is no way to cancel a…

emmet
- Make Emmet accessible with custom shortcuts or at least in a side panel (with a treeview like).
- Something very nice would be also some autocomplete while writting emmet snippet.
- Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think every emmet snippet are implemented (wrap for example?)

New Idea: Scrap 2017, Go back to 2015 CC, fix old bugs, add in a few new features
The 2017 release is clearly not ready for use.
Here is an idea: go back to the 2015 release...
add in the following features:
+ allow light/dark themes
+ add a panel to manage DWR extensions
+ update the interface (just a tiny bit)Then, please fix the small list of bugs from 2015
=> initialing assets freeze problem
=> patch the "colorpreview" JS error on start up
=> patch the small list of other complaints up on Adobe since March 2015DONE.
Presto! The new 2017 release would then be ready, everyone would be happy, legitimate progress would have…

Node.js
Having Node.js support would be great for modern web development as it has become more prevalent among server side languages.

Restore Toolbar Docking Locations
Restore Toolbar Docking Locations as they were in DW 2015. DW 2017 scatters basic toolbar and feature location options. The Document, Standard, and Coding tool bars could be neatly docked tightly in the area of the editing window, allowing for more efficient access. In DW 2017, these tool bars may float or they may be docked at the top, but they span the entire DW window, spreading out their buttons widely making it more of a reach to use them.

Shift + clicking on the line numbers in code view
When selecting code by clicking the line number, I cannot click a line number and then shift+click another line to select the entire section. It seems to ignore the "shift" key all together. This would be very helpful to have this feature. Thanks!

Need Typescript support
It's nice enough, but I don't see much real difference between the beta and Dreamweaver. I love Adobe products, but until you support Typescript, Angular, Backbone and other current web dev technologies, Dreamweaver will be insufficient for most web developers.

stop sending me to the top of the page everytime i do a find/replace
When ever i do a find/replace (and some other code edits too), it takes me to the top of the page and I have to find my spot in the code where i was again.
Very very frustrating and a waste of my time.
