Find and Replace - Save and Load query feature has been removed
The Find and Replace feature no longer offers the ability to Save or Load a query. I have several regular expressions I use to clean up data from content. Please add this feature back in. I can no longer access my saved queries.
We are happy to announce that we have addressed the older functionality of Save and Load query in Find and Replace dialog in latest Prerelease drop.

@Kratika NO YOU HAVEN'T!!!!
Yet another reason to return to an earlier version of DW... it's amazing that us customers pay for a piece of software that keeps REMOVING useful functionality!! What is WRONG with you? I don't understand why you keep REMOVING functionality!! I pay a subscription to gain new functionality with new releases, NOT to lose old functionality!! I keep hearing whispers of lawsuits being prepared against Adobe for the state of Dreamweaver, and to be honest, I'd quite happily become one of the group. I don't want the money... I just want a functional piece of software again! Between Find and Replace issues and the often failing Drag and Drop functionality I find myself wanting to send nasty messages to Adobe 'support' every single day I use DW... and as I am forced to use this rapidly disintegrating heap of crap every day... I am frustrated EVERY day by a piece of software that is supposed to HELP ME DO MY JOB!!!!
I agree with Kelly, I need to be able to export search results to plain text. Is there another thread for this issue?

Something that's being misunderstood about this issue is that I'm not looking for the ability to save search queries. That isn't helpful to me. I need to be able to export search results to plain text that can be sorted. Many people have this need but I'm seeing in forums that the Adobe folks are pointing us to the regedit instructions for "ShowHiddenOptions." That fixes a separate issue. Just wanted to make this distinction. Thanks.
Please post a workaround to use the Load/Save Query in find/replace. I use this OFTEN. The registry entry in windows does not work for me.
Please can you bring this back, it's an integral part of updating complicated HTML search and replace. It's been removed again in the latest release and the Registry Entry fix doesn't work!
Previous versions had a Save icon for saving results from a search. I now have to take screenshots of my results - very frustrating! Please bring the Save feature back!
This feature is not there in my Dreamweaver CC 2017.5 release. Please add it back. It is so important to my work. As a web person, I don't always know what to change to, especially when each instance change depends on its context. With this feature, I can search for specific content, send the file to content owners to review each instance and receive their suggested changes for individual findings. Without this feature, i do not know how to work with my content people. They don't have Dreamweaver. A lot of times, "search and replace" is not 1-1 exact replacement... I end up having CC and CS6 both on my laptop now. Will keep this way until this feature is back.... Thanks!
We have added this story to our backlog, will take this this up in the future releases. Thanks for your feedback.
Cannot float the search box, its nailed to the bottom row!
No history in the search parameters!

We need the "Advanced Find & Replace Export Results" back. I use it a lot. It is a little cumbersome in XML format (what I'd really love is to save the results as text or Comma-separated Values (CSV)), but as it was the only format offered I'd spend a little time stripping out the XML and then transforming it into CSV so that I could open it as an Excel file. Again: even the ability to save it as plain ol' text would be appreciated.
In case you need to argue for why it's needed, picture this:
You are searching for a term, or a bit of code, across an entire website of thousands of files, and you get back hundreds if not thousands of results. You need to be able to show your team the problem in a hard copy that you can sort and re-sort. You need to be able to work on these one-by-one in some cases, or maybe even assign chunks of these search results to different team members, and then check them off as you finish. You want to be able to send your boss an Excel file of the hundreds of pages you fixed.
You NEED to be able to save the search results.
If you don't have a way to restore this feature, I'll have to just take screenshots of the results and work from those, which is far less useful but about the only option open to me...short of just using other software to accomplish that. I'm not sure how keen Adobe is on "We'll take away features we've already established and encourage you to use other software" as an answer.
So, yes, please bring up the restoration of the save feature...and if at all possible, look into other formats for saving the results. I can't imagine this isn't a feature used by many organizations.

I realize that there is a workaround where you can go into the files and find that file and turn it back on, but I'm on a Mac and cannot find the "Advanced Find And Replace" file. This is so cumbersome. Why isn't "enable/disable Advanced Find and Replace" simply a user-friendly checkbox in the Settings?
We need the Save/Load option back, we need "Stop" back, and we need to be able to export the results. Whose harebrained idea is it to remove handy features from a heavily-used function?

Bring back the ability to save search results, please!! It's key to my job. I just updated to version 2017.5, hoping this feature would "come back" since it was missing in 2017.0. Jeesh, I can't even copy and paste the results list. Now, I have to use a different app for this.
No, I added showhiddenoptions=TRUE but the options don't show up in the search options. Also, although it's instructions for Mac, the screenshot is from Windows, the Mac version doesn't have a tab for the advanced view.

No, in DW 2017.1 (Build 9583) i cannot find any option to save a defined query for reuse or to load an existing one. Should there any be? - No! -> "By default, saving and loading search queries is not enabled in Dreamweaver." (Adobe) -- Why not?
And then the hint: "Open the Registry Editor - In the Start Menu, either in the Run Box or the Search box, .. (and help your self)."
I do not want to do this!!
I guess, it could NOT be MY job, to make modifications on sys files to get a (supported?) working environment. I am working in the level ABOVE the app as an user, not under the app as a programmer. This is, why i bought the app. ;)
I want still to have features, which are practically useful, helpful and time savers. It is absolutely neccessary for me to store complex search commands.
So please, make the two very - very very very - little icons, store and load, as default again. Where is the problem? If somebody really need not to be able to save and load search queries and does not like the icons: give him the hint, to modify the regedit and turn the functionalty off ... :) (or set it as option in the options menu).
Please, let the good things be good ) and improve the bad and faulty. - Save and load of search queries are very good things (and very big time savers!).
Because of these missing features and the bugs in the class list navigation, DW 2017 is useless for the practical work in my projects. I still work with DW 2015, waiting for a better version of DW 2017. :(
the find and replace feature where you can save or load a search query is gone?
So you haven't restored the feature. You've just engineered a hack. Not cool.
Keith Wyland commented
I have successfully turned on the re-added save/load query feature on Windows via the instructions provided.
Now that this is added, can we get save/export results?
Keith Wyland commented
Now that "Save/Load Query" is added back into the Find dialog, can the Export/Save Results feature be added back?
Previous DW versions had a feature of Search results that allowed us to save the results (to XML I believe). It would be great to have that back, and maybe CSV would be better than XML as a file format.

That's how I had edited the registry previously, but I was unaware that you needed to invoke the dialogue via CTRL+SHIFT+F. I was trying to use the regular search dialogue. Thanks.
