Code keeps disappearing

Since the latest upgrade (2017.1), the code view keeps disappearing. I can't find which action makes it happen.

Sometimes closing or opening windows helps, or closing program. I usually work in split view design/code. Switching views or to all code does not fix it.

In any case it renders the program completely unusable.

Hi,

We have fixed a lot of issue related to CodeView getting blank, can you please try the latest update Dw 17.5 and update this thread with your observations?

    Please advise on how to fix the disappearing cod problem, i worked non stop for a week, only to have my code vanish, i've tried everything, and nothing works

    I'm using 2017.5 and occasionally my code page goes blank in Code View as well as in Split View. I close DW and when it reopens it's fine.

    For the last two days, when I open random files in Dreamweaver, the code view is blank. Switching to design view shows the page, as does split view.

    In code view, the bar above the Properties panel displays the body tag and a snippet of PHP code.

    At the top of the pane, the names of the associated include files are displayed in a row.

    Find in current document and Replace in current document doesn't display a modal when clicked.

    If I close the file, open and close some other files, then open the original file, the code is displayed.

    Thank you for your help with this. I love using Dreamweaver. You have built a wonderful program that serves me very well!

    This issue occurs only on file load for me, in rare cases i have file opened without code editor and file content (like screenshot #2)

    This has started happening to me since I switched to the latest Creative Cloud version on my PC. I have updated to the most recent version, but every time I preview my work in IE, and then try to go back to work on my code, it has disappeared, and I have to quit Dreamweaver to get it back. This is a major annoyance.

    I've experienced this, too. I work in split view design/code and sometimes the lower portion of the split-view code window goes all white, as if the code just disappears part way down the page...YIKES! I close/re-open the program to see the code again. A relief to see my code is still in existence, but seems like a bug to me.

    I get this too...my fix is to switch views to a linked css or js file, using the links barunder the open tab rather than opening in a separate tab. When I switch back to source view the code is visible. Also build 2017.1.9583.

    Please provide the below information:

    1. Is this issue is intermittent or consistence ?
    2. Please share steps followed along with video clipping ?
    3. MAC OS sierra version number ?

    When selecting the code view does not show the code, if changes are made by the design view does not save them. Always touch restart the application; It is also very heavy and takes a long time to open the program. (IMac, OS Sierra, Intel Core i5 2.9ghz, RAM: 8GB.)
    Too many errors with the last two updates ... !!

    Sometimes it appears when file is closed and reopened, sometimes code does not show at all.

    I need to report, it still happen in new build too. It's happen when i import more than 2 files. The first one (code is empty). Second file is okay, same for third and fourth.

    So I am working on a webpage and then I close it to work on a different webpage. A few minutes later I go back to add something to the first webpage and everything is gone. Working in code view all the code has disappeared. If I click Split view on the top, I can see the wysiwyg portion of the page I have developed (so it is still there); however, in code view it is all gone. Attached is a picture of my screen in code view, it wouldn't let me attach a second file. I am currently using Windows 7, with an i3 processor and 6Gb of Ram.
