code editing is not possible
I frequently hand-code emailers which in my dreamweaver are one-page html documents.
After upgrading to CC2018, when I now open such a simple html document with just a table in it, I cannot edit the html directly at all.
What is happening. There is a QUICK EDIT option (right click on code area) - what is this and why is it "not available"?
I am flabbergasted and annoyed at this bug (?) as I need to finish an emailer this afternoon and now cannot use a tool that I have used for almost 20 years.

My problem is that I cant copy and paste and edit pages in the Live view and now have to play with the code in Split view or just code view. What happened????? Am I only now able to edit my pages in code view???? That is causing me a lot of extra time and issues. How can I resume editing in LIVE view??? Please respond... I have a lot of pages to update and edit.

The web pages I build are for cloud based application where the HTML pages are not valid, well formed documents. If I can't edit the code like I did in DW 2015 I cannot use DW CC and I will be moving to another tool (right now) and probably dump my Adobe Subscriptions, I can find alternative tools for everything I do. Too bad until CC came out I really liked all the Adobe tools.

same here , new to CC and it totally sucks. Cannot do my job. Cannot simply edit code, have to press ctrl-T to launch some other thing but code view / split view DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY ADOBE???????????????/ Time for Sublime or Notepad ++. Screw this.
The situation has sorted itself out. Not sure if this was through an update, or some old preferences have been overwritten?
It was debilitating as not to be able to click into code and edit it thre and then.
To retrace the steps:
open existing html file (small index.html file outlining a simple emailer for a campaign)
try edit it in code view
It felt like trying edit a non-editable region. I know from previous versions of Dreamweavers that you could define templates and then only have certain parts of it editable. I never used that feature, so dont know if it is even still there, but that is how it felt.
This is quite strange that you are not able to edit code in codeview, can you please tell us the extract reproducible steps for this scenario so that we can also try it at our end? Also, it would be really help if you record a small video clip demonstrating the issue and send it to us.
Just acquired CC2018 a couple days ago and found the same thing having used a much older reliable version of DW for years. Given that I'm a coder working in Developer mode its makes no sense that I can't right click and edit a tag. I've spent ages on this figuring it must be a setting somewhere but to no avail. I'm thinking about asking Adobe for my money back because this makes no sense.
