Code Editor: Black text on a black background!!
Since upgrading to Dreamweaver 2021 and macOS Big Sur, the text in code editor is not rendering in color. This means all the text is black and barely readable on a dark grey background!!
When will this be fixed?
Thank you for the comment about the font type. I changed to Verdana and the color is no longer black. Adobe... this is a huge screw up. If I was still a full time developer I would stop using Dreamweaver simply for the lost of color coding. The color greatly speeds up the debugging process.
sorry - restarted DW 2021 and colors are back in the code panel using Verdana
I have the same problem, only when using Source Code Pro. Really unfortunate because this is my favorite font for coding.
Here are the screenshots
I had the same problem with black text on black background, code view font was on Source Code Pro. I switched to another font and the problem went away.
Thanks for writing to us. Can you please confirm the code view font selected under Dw Preferences --> Fonts section and try performing below steps.
1. Quit Dw and collect Adobe log collector tool logs by following the steps in the KB article at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html .
2. Launch Dw and open preferences dialog under Dreamweaver menu
3. Switch to Fonts section and kindly note the code view font name
4. Change the code view font to something else (Times New Roman etc)]
Please share Adobe log collector tool logs over any sharing tool like Dropbox, Drive etc and confirm the font name observed in Step 3.
Please let us know if the above resolves the issue else we will further debug the issue.
Please refer to the attached screenshot for locating code view font under Fonts section in Preferences dialog.

This is happening to me too! Tried different code themes and I could get black text on white BG, but absolutely no syntax highlighting. @Adobe, what's the fix?
