    Hi,

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with code view. We are investigating the issue internally and have found the root-cause of the same.

    Please let us know if the below work-around resolves the code view lag issue.

    1. Quit Dw and open Registry Editor in Windows (Start menu -> type registry editor OR type regedit in Run window)
    2. Go to the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver 2020\
    3. Delete "Temp File List" folder (*before deleting the folder, recommend taking backup of the same by right clicking on the folder and Export)

    We have Basic and Advanced Find and Replace under Find menu. Please refer to the below link for more info and let us know the issues you are facing with Find and Replace functionality.

    Thank you for writing to us. We have found the root-cause of this issue and investigating the same.

    Please perform the below work-around to resolve the code view slow response issue and let us know if the issue gets resolved.

    1) Quit Dw and open Registry Editor in Windows (Start menu -> type Registry Editor OR Type regedit in Run window)

    Thanks for writing to us. We are able to connect to WebDAV server successfully with 20.2. Could you please confirm if you have provided all required information in Basic and Advanced section of the server setup window.

    You can also try resetting Dreamweaver preferences by following the steps in this page https://helpx.adobe.com/in/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html .

    Please let us know if the above solution works else it would be great if we can have a remote connect session at any suitable to you for debugging the issue since the issue is specific to 20.2 on your machine.

    Thanks for raising the request. We are working on adding the capability to clear previously synced settings for the user to store new set of settings as required.

    We have fixed this issue and is available in the latest Dw prerelease build. Hence request you to please install the prerelease build for verifying the fix on your machine and let us know your feedback on the same.

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for providing all the details and clarity on the issue you are facing. Detailed description of the issue helps us in investigating the issue.

    We tried to recreate the issue internally on macOS 10.14.6 and the issue is not reproducible. Hence it would great if you can write to us when you encounter the issue again. Please have Dw in the same state for us to investigate the issue since the same is not reproducible on all machines.

    3. Is the issue consistently reproducible on your machine
    4. Was the issue specific to a particular js file or you faced this issue with other file types as well.

    Hi,

    Thanks for providing the details. We are able to recreate this issue internally on mac OS 10.15 and are investigating the same. Thank you for trying the work-around, along-with the work-around you have provided, we can also perform either of the below for saving files.

    1. Save the file by providing file extension along-with the filename in the File Save dialog.
    2. Edit only the filename or remove the selection of the file extension (.html) in the filename textbox in File Save window

    We will update this ticket once we have the fix available in future Dw updates.

    Thanks for writing to us. We are unable to recreate this issue internally. On file save dialog, we see the selection is highlighted for filename and extension but on saving the file, the file is saved with the required .html extension(for a new html page). Hence could you please help us by providing the OS configuration and Dw version with which you are seeing this behavior. We can investigate the issue accordingly.

    Hi Eloy,

    Thank you for writing to us. From Dw 20.0, we have introduced Seamless live view editing feature where user can click on any element to edit in live view (Refer https://helpx.adobe.com/in/dreamweaver/using/whats-new/2020.html#seamless-live-view-editing for more info).

    Hence for invoking drop-down menu for any element in live view(navbar in your case), you will have to Hide Live View Displays which is available under Document Toolbar->Live view Options->Hide Live View Displays. The same can be performed by pressing Ctrl+Alt+H on windows or Cmd+Ctrl+H on mac or by selecting the menu item View menu->Live View Options->Hide Live View Displays. Also, you can press Ctrl/Cmd+Click on the drop-down item without selecting the Hide Live View Display option, this will enable the live view HUD's and list the drop-down items.

    Please let us know if this resolves the issue for you.

    We completely understand your concern and yes, we agree this issue is open from last year. Now, since multiple users have reported this issue again, we are keen on fixing this issue.

    As mentioned in the previous email, this issue is not reproducible on all machines and hence we are requesting users to help us with any additional info regarding this issue which will help us in our investigations and fix process.

    We are sorry for the inconvenience caused with this issue. We are investigating the same at our end.

    As this issue is encountered on some OS versions, it would be great if you can update this thread with reproducible steps in Dw and machine configuration details (Mac OSX or Windows version). This will help us in reproducing the issue internally.

    As a work-around to unblock you using code view, please follow the below steps:

    1) Close the current file on which code view is blank.

    2) Re-open the file by either of the below:
    a. File Menu->Recent Files->Last closed file name will appear in the sub-menu.
    b. File Menu->Open->Navigate to the file in Finder window and click Open.

    Hi MrMG,

    We are unable to reproduce this issue internally. Can you please perform the below steps once the Copy/Paste issue is reproduced on your machine and share us the link where the generated archive file is shared (*you can share it on dropbox, drive etc).

    Apple sysdiagnose report contains necessary machine logs which will help investigate the issue.

    Steps:
    1) Press Cmd+Opt+Ctrl+Shift+Period
    2) Wait for several minutes for Finder window to appear.

    Result:
    Finder window invoked at Step 2 will display the sysdiagnose(*).tar.gz archive file.

    We are sorry that you are facing issues with DW app.
    We are not able to see this issue at our end.
    For us to better investigate this issue, can you please provide us with answers to the following questions?

    1) What is the document view(full Code view or Live view or split code and live view) that you are copying from and pasting into?
    2) When does the issue start happening? Is it after you switch to another app and come back to DW or you minimise and maximize DW?
    3) Are the pages you are trying to copy from part of Local site root folder or remote site

    We are unable to reproduce this issue internally. Can you please get back to us with the below queries answered:

    1) OSX version 10.11.6, 10.12.x or 10.13.x ?
    2) Copy and paste is not working from a particular file type or all file types
    3) To which editor you are trying to paste the copied text.

    Above queries will help us understand the problem, help us in reproducing the issue in-house so that we can investigate the issue and provide you the fix.

    2) Is the issue encountered after performing any specific operation/workflow in .php file.
    3) Is this issue consistently encountered on your machine.
    4) Can you please confirm the process name (Dreamweaver or node) in Activity Monitor on Mac (Task Manager on Win) which is consuming high CPU memory.

    Sorry to hear you are facing slowness with code view. Can you please help us in providing the below info so that we can try to recreate the issue at our end and investigate the issue accordingly.

    1) Size of the file opened in code view.
    2) File type (HTML/CSS?JS/PHP or any) on which you are facing the issue.
    3) Is this issue consistently reproducible on your machine.
    4) Machine configuration and OS details.
    5) As you mentioned, issue is seen after performing find and replace. Can you please clarify if you invoked quick find and replace or advanced find and replace in code view.

    Also, it would be great if you can share a screen recording illustrating the issue so that we can try to have a similar setup at our end and try recreating the issue.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused and delay in responding to this thread. Can you please update to the latest Dw version 19.2.1 and let us know if you are still encountering the crash.

    If yes, please share us the crash dump over Google drive or any other tool. The "How to Set up WER for a Crash Dump" section in the article https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/chaun/2013/11/12/steps-to-catch-a-simple-crash-dump-of-a- crashing-process should help setup for capturing crash dumps. If you would need further help in capturing these dumps please let us know and we can mail across this as a .reg file that you can open directly for the setup.

    Also it would be great if you allow remote connect session at any suitable to you for investigating the crash as this is not encountered internally.

    We are sorry that you are facing issues with latest update. We are unable to reproduce the issue internally and hence can you please help us by providing below info so that we can try recreating the issue internally and provide possible solutions.

    1) What type of file are you opening in Dw ? Is the file on the local disk or on a network drive?

    2) Can you please check if you are seeing the same issue with a new blank or starter html template document?

    3) Can you please check the Dw CPU usage while you are encountering this issue?
    4) Can you please check if Sync Settings Now button is enabled.?This will be available on clicking on wheel icon on top-right of Dw frame.

    5) Can you please try to perform restoring preferences and let us know if this resolves the issue. Steps: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html

    Also, it would be great if we could remote connect session at suitable time to you so that we can investigate the issue.
