    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. Please try creating a new workspace with the required settings and make sure to save the workspace by following the below steps.

    Steps:
    1. Invoke Window menu and select Workspace Layout.
    2. Select ‘New workspace’ and provide a workspace name
    3. Press Enter or hit Ok
    4. Invoke Window menu --> Workspace layout menu again and select ‘Save Current’ option (This will have the workspace remembered on subsequent Dw launches)

Please try the above and revert if this sets the behavior as expected, else we can have a remote connect session at your convenient time for trying other steps and fix the behavior on your machine.

    Regards,
    Nayan

    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. We understand you are using Code and Design view in split window. Design view will display only the prototype as per the code written in the page.

For a browser like preview within Dw, please switch to Live view via View menu --> Split --> Code-Live and the preview can be seen in Code+Live Split window within Dw app.

Please let us know if switching the page to live view previews the page content as expected.

    Have a pleasant day!

    Hi Jay,

Thanks for reverting on this and letting us know on the root-cause of the issues observed earlier. Glad to know the issue is resolved on your Mac machine. We see this could be due to OS security where user consent is required for accessing remote location. In other CC apps, can you please confirm if the files are accessed from a remote location same as Dreamweaver.

As you mention, this is one-time OS setting and shall not happen in future. Please let us know in case you observe the issue in future.

    Have a pleasant day!

    Regards,
    Nayan

    Hi Jay,

Thanks for writing to us with all the details. We apologize for the issue you are facing on your Mac machine. We tried recreating the issue internally on Mac M1 machines and see that crash is not observed. Hence can you please help us with the below info for further investigations.

    1. Is the crash consistently happening on your machine.
    2. Can you please rename the machine Volume if possible and see if the crash gets fixed.
    3. Please try removing any special characters in the file/folder paths of the file being opened in Dw and see if the crash is observed.
    4. Did you have any previous Dw version on the machine or DW 21.2 is the first version which was installed on the machine.
    5. Do you have customization made in Dw app post which the crash is observed. If yes, please share the settings for replicating the same at our end.
    6. Have you submitted the crash to Adobe via Crash reporter dialog which gets invoked when app crashes.

In case the crash is consistent on your Mac machine, we can have a remote connect session(details sent via private email) for further investigating the issue and try fixing the same with few resolution steps.

    Have a pleasant day!

    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. We assume you are on a Mac machine when you mention Linux system. We see that macOS doesn't allow creating two folders in Finder with same name even with different cases of characters. Can you please help us with the actual workflow where you are observing this issue while working with same folder names with different cases. We will accordingly have the issue investigated internally.

    Have a pleasant day!

    Hi Manyue,

Thanks for reverting with the OS and machine config info. For further investigations, we would require below info from your side. Can you please revert on the below:

    1) Is the Mac a new machine with OSX 11.6 and issue is observed with first install of Dw
    2) If the answer is NO for the query 1, from which OSX version have you updated to the latest OSX 11.6 on the machine.
    3) Please confirm if source code font files are available at /Library/Fonts folder location
    4) Please provide Creative Cloud Desktop App version installed on the machine and Adobe logs collected via Adobe log collector tool
    5) Please try attaching a screenshot or screen recording illustrating the issue if possible.
    6) On setting the Font to a different one like 'Times New Roman' in Preferences-->Font section-->Code view font drop-down, click on Apply and Close the preferences dialog. Is the code color appearing fine in code view with the updated "Times New Roman" font.
    7) Does switching back to Source code pro font brings back the code color in code view.

Feel free to share the above files over any sharing tool like Google Drive, Creative Cloud, Dropbox etc.

We are unable to recreate the issue internally on multiple attempts and hence we are looking for your answers to the above queries. This will help us in identifying the issue and fix the issue with Big Sur at our end.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting.
Could you please share more information with us, to narrow down the issue at our end.
    1) Are you using large/heavy size files in Dreamweaver, can you specify the size of files you are using
    2) Does this issue happens while opening and navigating between, different file types or specific file extensions in Dreamweaver.
    3) Are you opening files from local drive or from any network location
    4) How many files at least should be opened for the issue to be reproducible, while you navigate between the files.

    Thanks
    Dreamweaver Team

    Hi @hhuang,

Thansks for reverting on this with additional details. As per your comment on the 2nd item, things are working fine when no sites are defined. Please confirm if our understanding is correct. Since the issue is not observed when no sites are defined, we suspect the issue could be due to site cache on the machine. For further debugging, can we please have a remote connect session(details sent privately) at convenient time to you for collecting reproducibility info which can help recreate the issue internally and try resolving the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks for reverting on this with the answers. Can you please confirm if the issue is still observed with Dw 21.1. If yes, please try installing Dw 20.2.1 and confirm if the issue is observed with DW 20.2.1 also.

    We can install Dw 20.2.1 from CCD --> Apps --> Dreamweaver --> "..." --> Other versions --> Install 20.2.1.

Also, please try few FTP troubleshooting steps available in the below KB article if in case this resolves the issue else we can have a remote connect session at convenient time to you for further investigating the issue on your machine and try our best to resolve the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. We are unable to recreate the empty file getting uploaded internally on macOS 11.4 machine. Can you please help us with the below info so that we can further debug the issue.

    1. Was the workflow working fine with previous Dw version with the same host server.
    2. Have you made any recent changes in the site setup configuration of the currently affected site on your machine.
    3. Is the issue specific to a specific file or happens with all file types and with new files too.
    4. Is the local root folder placed on any network drive location.
    5. Can you please provide the connection type(FTP/SFTP etc) where the issue is observed.

Since the issue seems to be machine specific, it would be great if we can have a remote connect session(details sent via private message) to investigate the issue and try fixing the same.

    Hi @Kerry,

Thanks for writing to us. We see that Dw supports the connections via authentication tokens. Please see if following below steps helps in successfully connecting to the GitHub.

    Steps:
    1. Login to your GitHub account in browser
    2. Click on your account icon in the upper-right corner GitHub page.
    3. Go to Settings and click on Developer Settings.
    4. Click on Personal Access Tokens and click on Generate New Token.
    5. For Token description, enter anything and for Scopes, you can use the default options.
    6. Make sure Repo and its sub-options are checked.
    7. Click Generate Token to invalidate any previous tokens you have generated and create a new token. Copy and paste the new token into the private document. This token can never be seen in GitHub again, so save it somewhere safe.
    8. Copy this token in Password textbox in Dreamweaver along-with other details and see if the connection to GitHub is successful.

Please confirm if the above resolves the issue else we will further investigate the same.

    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. We see that non-breaking spaces in live view can be deleted by pressing shift+arrow key to select the non-breaking spaces characters in live view. You need to enter live view edit mode and hit delete key after selecting the non-breaking space characters.

    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. Please see if you can subscribe to our pre-release program to try the in-built Databases and Server Behaviors panels in Dreamweaver with build 15333 available for download. The current prerelease build has MySQL and MySQLi interfaces available for database connections with PHP 7.

    Pre-release program link: https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/9EB451B5-D2E8-46E5-AFA2-78C85442FFA2/participate/1387E879-0953-4B5E-880B-08A0CFE3E009

Please note: Dw prerelease build is provided for unblocking you with your workflow and is used mainly for debug purposes. We do not recommend for production activities since this is a Beta version build.

Please try to install the add-on with the below mentioned steps for production purposes which will bring back the older Databases and Server Behaviors panels.

Also, we have an add-on available in Creative Cloud Desktop App --> Marketplace tab which can bring back the Databases and Server Behavior panels in Dreamweaver. Please see if you can install the add-on 'Server Behavior & Database'.

Add-on web link can be accessed with the below add-on link.

    Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. Can you please confirm the code view font selected under Dw Preferences --> Fonts section and try performing below steps. The below work-around will not require clearing preferences folder.

    1. Launch Dw and open preferences dialog under Dreamweaver menu
    2. Switch to Fonts section and kindly note the code view font name
    3. Change the code view font to something else (Times New Roman etc)]

Please let us know if the above resolves the issue else we will further debug the issue.

Please refer to the attached screenshot for locating code view font under Fonts section in Preferences dialog.

    Thanks,
